The second stop on our shortened summer trip brought us to Isle of Iberia RV Resort—a newer campground that clearly aims to be more of a destination than just a place to park for the night.
With 185 sites, this is a fairly large park, and overall, it’s a well-designed and attractive place to stay. That said, it’s not without a few trade-offs, and timing your visit here makes a bigger difference than you might expect.

One of the biggest advantages of staying at Isle of Iberia RV Resort is its proximity to several unique South Louisiana attractions.
The surrounding area offers a mix of Cajun culture, scenic bayous, and unique attractions that make this more than just a stopover campground.

The concrete pads and abundance of pull-through sites make arrival and setup simple, particularly for big rigs. However, the lack of shade can make things pretty warm during the summer months, and the absence of picnic tables is something to keep in mind if you enjoy outdoor meals at your site.

Why We Chose This Campground
The main reason we booked a stay here was to revisit the Tabasco Factory, which is just a short drive away. If you’ve never been, it’s a surprisingly interesting stop where you can tour the production facility, learn about the history of Tabasco sauce, and, of course, sample a variety of flavors.
While we were in the area, we also made a trip over to Rip’s Rookery. This turned out to be a fantastic wildlife experience. We saw large numbers of nesting birds along with several alligators, making it well worth the visit—especially if you enjoy photography or just getting out into nature.
Campsite Layout & First Impressions
The park is clean, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. You can tell it’s been built recently with today’s RVers in mind.
However, one thing that stood out right away was that sites are a bit close together. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you prefer more elbow room, you’ll notice it—especially during a busier stay.
Still, everything is well-maintained, and hookups are conveniently positioned, making setup easy.
Resort-Style Pool & Lazy River
The highlight of this campground is, without question, the pool and lazy river complex.
This isn’t your typical campground pool—it’s more like something you’d expect at a small resort. The lazy river adds a fun, relaxing element that really sets this place apart.
Located right at the pool is the clubhouse, which includes:
- The Tropicajun swim-up bar
- A stage for live entertainment
During the summer, the resort hosts “Beats on the Bayou”, a weekly live music event held every Saturday night.
Unfortunately, we arrived about a week too early for the summer lineup to kick off, so we missed out on what is likely one of the most lively aspects of the park.

- The overall vibe was more laid-back than lively
While that made for a peaceful stay, it also felt like we were missing the park’s full personality.

This isn’t a quiet, tucked-away campground—it’s designed to be a destination. The pool and lazy river, combined with the swim-up bar and live music, give it more of a vacation vibe than your typical overnight stop.
At the same time, there are a few trade-offs. The tighter site spacing, lack of shade, and no picnic tables may matter more depending on how long you plan to stay.
For us, the location was a big win with easy access to the Tabasco Factory and Rip’s Rookery, both of which are well worth visiting.
If you time your stay right—when everything is open and active—this is the kind of place that can be a really fun stop on a summer trip.
