Mesmerizing Over 2 Million People
From the Houston Chronicle: The Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit was created by Massimiliano Siccardi, a 30-year pioneer in immersive content. His work has mesmerized over 2 million people in Paris and was recently showcased in the Netflix series Emily in Paris. A visionary in digital and video mapping, Siccardi takes audiences on an emotional and cathartic journey that explores Van Gogh’s art and life in a stream-of-consciousness narrative. From bright bursts of colors to moments of moodier introspection and everything in between, Immersive Van Gogh Houston is a beautiful homage to this great artist and the legacy he left behind. Immersive Van Gogh is the Van Gogh show that is selling out in Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York
What Is It?
Immersive Van Gogh brings 40 of Van Gogh’s paintings to life from over 400 photos licensed from the world’s most prestigious museums. The photos have been brought to life in a 360° video.
How Long Is It?
The run time of one experience at Immersive Van Gogh Houston is about 35 minutes. It runs on a continuous loop, and guests can stay for multiple viewings. We entered about 3/4 of the way through the looped film and then stayed till the whole thing ran through again. It was interesting enough to sit through multiple times.
How Much Does It Cost?
The Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit is a bit pricey for what it is, but I am still glad we went. They required masks, and you had to sit on the floor unless you were lucky enough to snag a bench. It truly was stunning, and I felt it told a beautiful story. We did not purchase VIP tickets, and glad we didn’t. From what we saw, that group did not seem to receive any additional perks but did get a free poster and cushion to sit on.
We got our tickets from VetTix.
If you are a Military Veteran, you should sign up for VetTix. We’ve seen so many shows with tickets from them.
They provide “Free” event tickets to Veterans, active military & their families. You do need to pay a small handling fee, but it’s well worth the price of admission to any event they have.
Conclusion
If you are a huge fan of Van Gogh or only know if Starry Night, you will enjoy the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. If it comes to your town, we’d recommend checking it out. It beats going to a boring museum to see still paintings on a wall. These paintings come to life in the Immersive experience.
