As full-time RVers, Lisa and I are no strangers to stumbling upon or searching out unique destinations. This one is absolutely one of the funniest places we’ve ever been. Our latest escapade led us to the hilariously named Uranus Fudge Factory in St. Robert, Missouri. This blog post is all about the hilarious journey to a place that proves humor and sweets are a match made in… well, Uranus!

The World Famous Uranus Fudge Factory is a must-see stop along Historic Route 66 (I-44)! Route 66 is known for its quirky and unique roadside attractions, and the Uranus Fudge Factory fits this tradition perfectly. The humorous and slightly irreverent nature of the factory is in line with the kind of eclectic stops that have made Route 66 famous.
Lisa found out about Uranus Fudge Factory from a Facebook Reel by comedian Jaron Myers. We watched it over and over laughing our asses off. It became a stop we had to make when in that area.
The Uranus Fudge Factory, with its playful and pun-filled name, naturally lends itself to a host of juvenile jokes and humor. This lighthearted approach is part of the factory’s charm and marketing strategy. The jokes usually revolve around the double entendre of the word “Uranus”.

We left Scott Air Force Base outside St. Louis, MO on our way to Joplin, MO. Excited for our next stop, Uranus Fudge Factory, halfway between the two. As we approached St. Robert, I wondered if the factory would live up to its funny name and Travel Humor reputation. It definitely did!
While not as impressive as the signage for Wall Drug, Uranus Fudge Factory signs (and laughs) started popping up about 30 miles from the store.
First Impressions
Our arrival at Uranus Fudge Factory was nothing short of theatrical. The sight of a gigantic, whimsical sign proclaiming Uranus Fudge Factory and Sideshow Museum set the stage for what was to be an unforgettable visit. The exterior, adorned with colorful, over-the-top decorations, immediately piqued our curiosity and promised a fun-filled experience.
Stepping inside, we were enveloped in an atmosphere that was a delightful assault on the senses. The vibrant colors, playful decor, and the sweet aroma of fudge cooking were instantly captivating. It was like stepping into a different world – one where humor and sweetness reigned supreme.
The staff decked out in Uranus-themed T-shirts, greeted us with smiles and loud Welcome to Uranus. Their enthusiasm was infectious, making us feel like part of a special, albeit quirky, community. Around us, we noticed other visitors chuckling at the cleverly placed jokes and puns that adorned the walls and displays. It was clear that the Uranus Fudge Factory was more than just a place to buy sweets; it was an experience designed to entertain and amuse.

Beyond the Fudge
While the fudge is undoubtedly the star at Uranus Fudge Factory, there are other things to see as well. The Sideshow Museum offers many wonders, exhibits, and historical pieces from America’s circus and sideshow history. Their tagline is, Everything is either really real or really fake, But it’s all really fun! And it really is! We got to meet Kat the tattooed sword swallower.
Across the road from Uranus Fudge Factory is Putt Pirates Mini Golf an 18-hole course you can sink your balls in. It was drizzling the day we visited so we didn’t get a chance to play.
You can also get HoMade Ice Cream or Hot Dogs in Uranus.
We also checked out the Uranus Jail and had fun taking pictures there.
They have a Tattoo shop that wasn’t open yet and as we saw from one of the signs on the way a Chicken Restaurant is on the way soon.
The last area we checked out in Uranus was the Funk Yard. They had some picnic tables to eat at there, a truck with the Uranus Pickers, a coin-op band on the flatbed, and the world’s largest belt buckle.

- Parking Tips: The Uranus Fudge Factory has ample parking space, accommodating RVs of various sizes. However, it’s always wise to arrive a bit earlier to find a good spot. We were lucky and got a spot right by the sign, but there is more parking across the road at Putt Pirates Mini Golf.
- Overnight Stays: While the factory itself doesn’t offer overnight RV parking, there are several RV parks and campgrounds nearby. Some offer full hookups and other amenities that cater to the needs of RVers.
